Girl got STYLE

For my own fashion inspiration for the Spring, I've been perusing some of the best celeb looks from festival pasts.  Somehow these ladies just make it look so damn cool.

Foxy Lady, I'm Coming To Get You

Get ready for it...never before heard Jimi Hendrix is coming out of the vault.  March 9th.  This is the first album I've ever pre-ordered from itunes before, so enjoy the first single!  We can also look forward to several more tracks in the future...crazy, psychedelic, and straight from the grave, right?!

JAYZ My Nizzle

Trey Songz, Young Jeezy, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil' Wayne.  I hadn't heard of half of these guys until last night.  And isn't Lil' Wayne supposed to be in jail?  Even though I was hoping for an Alicia Keys or Rhianna guest appearance, the show last night at MSG was amazeballs, and the graphics on the backdrop were killer.

The highlight of the show was when Jay-Z took it back to the 90's with "99 Problems" and "Big Pimpin,'" and finally "Empire State of Mind"--there's no question he has much love for his hometown, and it felt special to be a part of it.  This man can point to anyone in the audience and command them to his every will, but he takes none of it for granted.  A true musical God.

OK Go Does It Again

Lots of buzz on this one.  It defintiely beats the treadmill, and we film geeks love this because it's one take!  The song's not bad either, not bad at all.

On Repeat: She & Him

I shouldn't have to tell you that Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward make beautiful sweet music together. We still have one month to go before Volume Two, but I'm the lucky girl that gets to shoot them at SXSW in 3 weeks and counting.
Something new, something old, and a cover to top it off:

She & Him, Volume Two "In The Sun"
She & Him, (500) Days of Summer "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want"

New Vampire Weekend Video: "Giving Up The Gun"

Interesting cast.

Festival Love

I was like a kid in a candy store today trying to choose my summer festival plans, and in my search discovered new locations and fantastic line-ups.  Most of the same bands are making the rounds, so I think it's all about choosing the right location, where you can stay, and who you want to see perform.  My #1 pick is My Morning Jacket, especially because their tour schedule is pretty light so far.  And I've always wanted to see a show at The Gorge in George, WA, so the Sasquatch Festival seems like the absolute right choice (are you SEEING the photo above??!!).  My friends and I were going NUTS over the line-up.  I hear camping is absolutely top notch there as well.  Looks like I've got my Memorial Day weekend plans locked solid.  And thank you, Maria, for turning me onto The Hangout Festival on the beach in gulf shores, AL, May 14th-16th.  How can you go wrong with bands like Trey, Ben Harper, John Legend, Ray LaMontagne, Gov't Mule, and Rodrigo y Gabriela--playing on the BEACH??  I can only happily imagine campfires, surfing, swimming, and the sun fading on some unforgettable sets.

Live. Breathe. Drink. Love. Laugh. Eat. Play. Listen.
